kppm are looking to recruitment a BIM Engineering Design Manager for our client an Irish owned global Engineering and Construction leader.  Due to increased business and heavy investment with their international hi tech industry sector clients working on the following large scale hi tech industry projects throughout Ireland:  Pharmaceutical,  Data Centre and Semiconductor.

Suitable applicants:  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering: MEP plus strong Revit experience and appropriate Revit training is essential.

10+ years’ Experience in Management of design, drafting or engineering production, using 3D Modelling tools including REVIT MEP in a design consultancy or with an M&E Sub-contractor.

Hi Tech Project Experience in Ireland including: Pharmaceutical/GMP and or Datacentre and or Semiconductor.

Professional memberships or Chartership would be an advantage.

Familiar with Relevant Irish & International Codes and Standards.

Candidates will have suitable experience to perform in the role of BIM Engineering Design Manager including:  Superior in-depth knowledge of Smart 3D Design Tools such as Revit along with a good knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks Manage.

Must have the passion and interest in the digital revolution and 3D-8D-nD in the engineering, Project Management & Asset Management space.

Must understand the practice of Engineering Design of Electrical & Mechanical Systems, project delivery and construction methods along with appreciation and collaborative work ethic in working with other Collaborative Professionals such as Client, architects, civil, structural and supply chain.

Experience in monitoring, reviewing & reporting BIM Compliance, model production delivery table (MDPT), understanding level of detail (LOD) and asset information model (AIM) requirements.

Understanding and Knowledge of Civil, Structural Architectural Engineering in BIM.

Must have the skill set to facilitate and lead in a decision making engineered approach to multidisciplinary Clash & Space Management review & approval process.

A self-starter and possess the drive to pursue continued Engineering Education on BIM and related design technologies.

Passion for design technologies and skilled in the development of technologies and practices to increase user effectiveness along with Engineering & Construction Industry Efficiency.

Must have Optimised design approach and experience in Value Engineering, Space Management & Detailed Design Coordination and Clash Resolution.

Must have the Vision, Drive and Ambition to build a Unique Team and Resource who will be world class in changing the dynamics of the Industry.

Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.

Extremely service and client oriented and highly approachable with a commitment to helping others.

Good interpersonal skills and very comfortable and effective working with others in a team environment.

Interoffice travel and conference and seminar attendance required.


RESPONSIBILITIES:  Build a Team and BIM Resource to Project Manage BIM projects in the First Instance while also providing mentoring and leadership to all BIM staff. This includes the Realisation of 8 D and nD & Beyond ideology.

Management of all aspects of BIM software packages, including installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting all BIM installations locally as well as analysing and solving BIM user issues.

Collaborating with other location BIM Managers to decide on upgrades to software, processes, systems and BIM strategy.

Act as Project Interface, providing support to each project team by managing and creating content library files and templates, creating and enforcing standards, and evaluating project models.

Management, implementation and upkeep of all relevant BIM standards etc., ensuring all BIM Coordinators are trained to the required level.

Periodically auditing BIM models.

Provide IT/technology support as it relates to BIM production including troubleshooting problems and liaising with vendors and other support channels.

Management and provision of training and continuing education as required to staff on all BIM software, processes and new technologies.

Keep up to date with most recent technologies and thinking in the BIM space by attending conferences, seminars, and workshops for BIM; bringing back learning and disseminating the information to appropriate teams.

Assist in the Marketing, Promotion and sales of BIM services, liaising with the Marketing Manager.
