My Client a busy consultancy who looking for a BIM Manager to manage the BIM team for South Dublin
The Role of the BIM Manager
- Organises BIM Staff and provides direct support to project teams to ensure office-wide end user support
- Implements Revit and other design software in compliance with Company BIM standards
- Evaluates BIM skills of new hire and potential hires; provides orientation and training Company standards and guidelines, in the support of design software use
- Addresses technical issues, with the support of other Software Super Users, software vendors, and other resources
- Stay ahead of industry standards and maintains current knowledge of BIM and other design software, industry developments in integrated practice, and other applicable techniques
- Mentors less experienced BIM personnel and offers advice and knowledge
- Provides end user support in Revit and other design software
- Manage production of project deliverables through his BIM CAD team
- Assigns his staff as a BIM Project Coordinator and reviews and oversees this project
- Is responsible for QA control of BIM CAD section including managing folder structure and file-naming strategy, use of templates and documenting specific project procedures
- Ensures that configurations and other customisations are complete, in place and limited to those that are supportable and in line with standards and project procedures
- Defines and implement procedures for coordination with Revit and non-Revit material used by other members of the extended project team
- Be responsible for Project & Company Standards are adhered to
- Be responsible for Project Deadlines are adhered to
- Manage staff retention
- Win repeat business
- Market the company whenever possible
- Attend client & Industry functions
- Seek client feedback on all projects when complete
- Create opportunities for staff
- Appraise new staff throughout their 6 months of starting and yearly there after (formally & informally)
- Smart management (face time with clients, less detail and delegation of engineering tasks) – Bathtub Management without losing oversight of the project
- Develop a smarter way to do business – deliver differently – as effective with less resources
- Development of Staff, leads by example, provides clears guidance and direction
- Promote positive message internally and externally (conscious of your shadow)
- Make your work group a success, build it as a SBU and be responsible for its profit
- Drive the Company strategy
- Responsible for financial performance of each & every project
- Identifies and deals with poor performance of staff and projects
