BMS Engineer (Dublin )

Kppm are currently looking to recruit a BMS Engineer for a large multi award winning Building Services Consulting Engineers in South Dublin.


My client is looking for an Intermediate or Senior BMS Consultant Engineer to join our rapidly growing Datacentre Division with the plan to build a specialist BMS team around the successful candidate as we increase our project portfolio across Europe.

Based in our Dublin office, the role will involve the ability to work independently with client liaising/workshops to understand the individual project requirements then delivering the BMS system design to a specific standard for the contractor to develop the installation detail which will be monitored & witnessed for compliance with the design. Travel to client workshops and construction sites on occasions will be required but the role will be predominantly office-based.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience or a strong understanding of the Data Centre sector and eagerly looking for their next career opportunity to develop & manage their own specialist BMS team.


Role Responsibilities

  • Liaise with client to understand project requirements and presentation of design at design stage gates
  • Coordinate and collaborate across project disciplines both within the office and outside
  • Design of control systems across all platforms to develop the required project documentation; specifications, functional description, I/O lists, schematics and drawings.
  • Liaise with manufacturers to development of instrument datasheets from concept through design
  • Review & comment on contractor site queries, technical submittals, and shop drawings for compliance against the design intent.
  • Working with automation contractors in developing solutions/systems
  • Site work, dealing with clients / electrical contractors
  • Attendance at site meetings, inspection and commissioning witnessing
  • Working with, lead and coach younger engineers and co-workers
  • Adherence to quality standards and attention to detail ad accuracy
  • Innovative view on current engineering practice with the view to improve internal processes



BEng or appropriate engineering degree or  Relevant I&C qualification


Specific Knowledge


  • Fully conversant with current Irish Regulations e.g. ET-101:2008 (National Rules for Electrical Installations)
  • Working knowledge of CAD/BIM/REVIT systems
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc
  • Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent communicator both written and orally
  • Commercially aware

Specific Business Understanding

  • Act in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines
  • Background in consulting or construction preferred
  • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy
