Job Description

Intermediate Mechanical HVAC Engineer:  The successful candidate will report functionally to the Mechanical/HVAC Department Manager and on a project basis to the Lead HVAC Engineer or Project Manager in accordance with the project structure.

The work scope will include:
Conceptual and detailed design of Mechanical systems for Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor or other similar industrial production facilities.
Development of P&ID’s for utilities systems through all design stages: Conceptual, Preliminary and Detailed engineering.
Specification of mechanical plant and piping

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
The timely completion of all assigned Mechanical deliverables, specifications, drawings and technical requisitions within strenuous quality and safety criteria.
Assisting the career development of the Mechanical engineering team.
Interfacing with clients, vendors, Jacobs project management and other disciplines ensuring the highest level of service is provided.
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.

Requirements:
Pharmaceutical experience preferable, large scale industrial, skill sets: wet and dry, calculations, specifications, detailing and sizing.
Proficient in spreadsheets, problem solving and solution creation.
Strong relevant engineering/design experience in industrial/advanced technology sector and mission critical systems.
Engineering/ design experience in the Mech/HVAC systems.
Experience with start-up and commissioning will be an advantage.
Experience in equipment layout definition.
Excellent English level – written and spoken.
Knowledge of Mech/HVAC specific design standards (minimum UK/EU).
Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels.
Experience using Navisworks is desirable.

Qualifications and Experience
Primary degree in Building Services, Energy or Mechanical Engineering (Level 8) and either working towards or already gained chartered status.
You will have design experience ideally gained within the Mechanical Utilities or related industries.
Proven track record in utilities systems design which should include some of the following:
HVAC air systems.
Chilled water and glycol systems.
Thermal fluid systems.
Refrigeration systems.
Steam systems.
Hot water systems.
Cooling water systems.
Compressed air systems.
Specification of mechanical plant including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, compressors, pumps.
Piping specifications.
Hydraulic calculations.
P&ID’s.
A&ID’s.
Risk assessments, safety and constructability reviews.
Preparation of tender and construction packages.
