Piping Designer – Intermediate Level (Dublin or Cork Based)  kppm are currently looking to recruit an intermediate level Mechanical Piping Designer for our client a leading consulting Engineers who have offices in both Dublin and Cork.  This is a permanent full time role and comes with flexible working hours & time in lieu,  CPD Training programme.

Suitable candidates will have as a minimum: Diploma or equivalent qualification + 5 years process plant design experience working as a Piping Designer with a consulting engineers office or based at a project engineering office in a process manufacturing facility.

  • Excellent technical and drawing skills with proficiency in current AutoCAD/AutoCAD Plant 3D versions and ideally BIM/REVIT.
  • Be fully proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You will be motivated and enthusiastic, have the ability to work your own initiative, meet deadlines and be able to liaise successfully with project/process engineers as well as engineers/designers in other disciplines.
  • Proven ability to be involved in multiple projects in the pharmaceutical and or food & beverage and or medical devices and  or biotechnology industries.

Duties will include:  You will report directly to the Director of Process & Project Engineering

  • Undertaking site surveys, locating tie-in’s etc.
  • Preparation of PFD’s, P&ID’s , Isometrics, equipment and piping GA’s.
  • Liaise with other departments within the company.
  • Preparing piping specifications.
  • Responding to RFI’s.
  • Drawing Issue control.
  • Preparing piping MTO’s and cost estimates.
  • Preparing piping scope of works documents.
  • Liaising with contractors on site and resolve any issues.
  • Providing design support to clients/contractors.
  • Attend site meetings.
