Planning Engineer

 

Project:

Large Pharmaceutical Manufacturing facility

Project Experience preferred:                     

Life Science / Pharmaceutical

Location:

Denmark / North of Copenhagen

 

Job Purpose:

This is a key position in the delivery of a large-scale, multi-discipline  pharmaceutical project.

The Planning & Scheduling Engineer is responsible for preparing submittals of construction, Procurement, Engineering schedules. Draws up master/discipline schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet client master schedule. Updates client through nominated software. Analyses specifications and construction data and performs calculations to determine resource requirements for the project. Plans and schedules workflow for each operation according to previously established client sequences and lead times.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant 3rd Level Engineering degree preferably MEP or similar plus 7+ years experience working as a Planning Engineer preferably on large scale: Life Science / Pharmaceutical projects.

Advantageous Requirements:

  • Pharma Experience is advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning and coordination, People Management skills.
  • Strong technical, prioritization and management skills.
  • Good communication, influencing and interface skills.
  • Adaptable with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Detail orientated.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to develop and update a schedule.
  • Awareness of to read plans, specs, and contracts to determine just what all stakeholders expect of the schedule.
  • Record delays to the schedule and analyse the impacts of those delays.
  • Efficient in use of scheduling software P6 programs and the flow of work.
  • Create the plan and figures out how to build the project in the most efficient manner
  • Present plan to management for their review, comments, and approval.
  • Aware of all steps needed in the EPC process, the permitting process, the development/release/award of bid packages, the tracking of long lead procurement items and material, the actual construction of the project, and finally the steps need to commission and closeout the project.
  • Ability to read and understand the contract in place.
