Quantity Surveyor – (Co. Wicklow)
kppm are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for our client a leader in residential housing developments. Our client have been at the forefront of modern, quality homes with a focus on design and functionality.
Responsibilities
· The Quantity Surveyor will support and report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager on the management of subcontractor’s accounts cash management, project financials and cost control.
· The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with and report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
· Liaising with clients on relevant queries and taking ownership to resolve.
· Ensure best practices to protect the business from financial loss and best value throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Cost Control:
· Control issuing of tender inquiries to Sub-contractors & specialist suppliers
· Production of tender information and analysis including:
· Preparation of Bills of quantities.
· Preparation of Works requirements
· Compile Drawing registers, drawings, specifications and reports
· Produce TSA’s for tender evaluation
· Attend and host post tender meeting minutes with sub
· Produce Sub-contract recommendations
· Value Engineering as required
· Produce contracts for approval and issue to contractors.
· Conducting on-site evaluations/tick sheets.
· Project cost monitoring including:
· CVR Preparation
· Review of cost downloads from finance department
· Journal transfers where applicable
· Tick sheets
· Materials on-site record via site clerk buying dept
· Risk register monitoring
· Cashflow forecasting
· Production forecasting
· Work closely with buying department to track current rates and supply issues
· Liaise with H & S department to ensure sub-contractors are fulfilling their contractual requirements.
Education and Experience
· Suitable candidates must have a Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent plus a minimum of 7+ year’s experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on large residential construction projects.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
This is a full time staff position and salary is €Negotiable depending on experience.
