Senior Project Mechanical Engineer

We are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer for the role of Senior Project Mechanical Engineer for our client a leading multi award winning Mechanical & Electrical Consulting Engineers including “A great place to work” who work in the following industry sectors: Commercial Offices, Data Centres, High Tech.

They also work a 9-day fortnight  (every 2nd Friday is a day off) including holidays and bank holidays will give you approx. 54 paid days off for an incredible work life balance.

And the role is offered with Hybrid / Working from home options (Dublin Based).

Suitable candidates will have:

A 3rd level Engineering Degree preferably Building Services Engineering or related plus a minimum 10+ years experience of Mechanical Building Services  design experience plus:

  • A minimum of 2+ years experience working  as a senior member of the design team delivering high tech smart office developments for some of the large tech firms or similar projects (Smart Buildings).
  • Excellent communication skills, and strong experience representing your design team at design team meetings and Client meetings.
    Proven ability to lead projects and be able to take a brief from the project lead on large projects and deliver and control the tasks required.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple tasks, prioritise and delegate as appropriate to meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent report writing skills and the proven ability to explain complex engineering issues in simple and clear language.
    Strong understanding of HVAC and building controls.
  • Experience in the design of plumbing and drainage systems is preferred.
    Experience of training and professional development of junior and intermediate engineers working as part of group.
  • Proven ability balance demands, copes well with interruptions and switches well between tasks
  • Ability to Work under limited supervision
  • You will be working towards a professional qualification

 

About the Role – Senior Project Mechanical Engineer

Key Activities

  • Responsibility for definable parts of project – may include full responsibility on smaller projects.
    Responsibility for elements of work which may include supervision of other staff.
  • Champion the QA system
  • Carry out Audits of other projects under the companys QA system.
  • Manage upkeep of project design file.
  • Take a proactive role in a broad range of tasks and activities.
  • Delivery of projects  on time in an organised way.
  • Problem Solving and communication and sharing with others in the team.
  • Client  Liaison and Design Team Liaison
  • Problem solving of on-site issues – Contractors and Vendors
    Promote positivity internally and externally

 

Note: Training and mentorship will be provided in developing the right candidate to progress on to take on a lead role within the Global tech team.
