Job Description

Traffic & Transport Engineer /Modeller – (Dublin City)

Kppm are looking to recruit a Traffic & Transport Engineer/ Modeller to join our client an Engineering Consultancy to work on various projects from residential to multi-million-euro commercial developments.

Responsibilities

·         Take full responsibility for fulfilling the traffic modelling requirements for development projects throughout Ireland.

·         Prepare Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA), Mobility Management Plans (MMP), Travel Plans, etc. for planning applications.

·         Design junctions, roundabouts, car parks, access to car parks and basements, etc.

·         Engage with and advise colleagues/ clients on parking ratios, bicycle, electric vehicle, shared vehicle requirements for developments.

·         Engage with the Local Authority/ An Bord Pleanala as required.

·         Co-ordinate the development of all traffic & transport drawings and reports.

·         Liaise with the Architect on drawings and issue mark-ups / comments where necessary.

·         Ensure all drawings are checked prior to issue to site.

·         Respond to all contractor queries in a timely fashion.

·         Attend design team meetings / workshops.

·         Provide any other inputs on projects as may be required from time to time.

·         Actively engage in CPD and route to Chartership.

Education and Experience

·         Suitable candidate must have a Masters (or equivalent education plus experience) level education in Civil or Structural Engineering from a reputable institution.

·         Candidates must be Chartered or eligible for chartership with Engineers Ireland or equivalent body.

·         Have 3+ years’ experience traffic modelling with Picady, Arcady, Oscady and Transyt software (or similar).

·         Have 3+ years’ experience preparing traffic reports (such as Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA), Mobility Management Plans (MMP), Travel Plans) and general transport design for planning.

·         Detailed knowledge of Irish traffic and transport codes of practice and Local Authority requirements.

·         Experience working in a civil & structural consulting engineering office.

·         Effective communicator both in written and verbal form, capable of representing the firm in design team and client meetings.

·         Excellent initiative and an eagerness to provide top level engineering services as part of a multi-functional team.

·         Experience in Strategic Housing Development (SHD) planning applications (desirable but not essential).

·         Hold a valid drivers licence.

·         Hold a valid visa for working full-time in Ireland.

This is a full time staff position and salary is €Negotiable depending on experience.
