Automation Engineer (Ireland)

The successful candidate will join a excellent engineering team working on complex automation and SCADA projects in the Datacentre environment.

You will have excellent people skills and have a proven ability to work in partnership at all levels.

High levels of commitment, your responsibilities will include leading various stages of projects from concept to completion.

This is an opportunity to be involved in a dynamic engineering department with exposure to multiple projects running simultaneously.

You will work closely with customers, listening to their needs and implementing innovative solutions using latest technologies.

You will be required to commit considerable effort to truly understand  customer’s systems and identify ways to add value.

When issues are uncovered, you will be involved in root cause analysis of said issues and working to see the investigation and resolution through to completion.

As an Automation Engineer, in addition to strong technical skills, you will need an aptitude for critical thinking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work as part of a team and you will need to be an organized individual.

 Skills and Experience Required:

  • Relevant 3rd level engineering qualification
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in PLC & SCADA application development.
  • Ideally experienced in RSLogix 500/5000, FTView SE, Ignition SCADA.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks and protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power systems would be advantageous.
  • The ability to interpret electrical schematic drawings is required.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems would also be an advantage.
  • Proven track record of achieving objectives and delivering value.
  • A strong work ethic with a clear focus on delivery and quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage own work.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with fluent English.

 Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test PLC code in accordance with coding standards and following good engineering practice.
  • Implement software and systems changes on the automation systems under change management processes.
  • Provide technical support to partners within Engineering and Operations for automated systems during the life cycle of the equipment.
  • Designing/programming of PLC/HMI systems following good engineering practice.
  • Designing/developing best in class SCADA systems.
  • SCADA mimic development.
  • Tag database development.
  • Testing and commissioning of developed SCADA systems.
  • Day to day support of deployed SCADA systems.
  • General automation and controls design on a range of projects.
  • Developing/modifying electrical, network and software system drawings.
  • Testing automation systems and control panels.
  • Preparing project documentation such as URS, FDS and O & M Manuals

 

This is a fulltime Position with a hybrid working model with the head office based in  Dundalk.

This can be offered as either a Full-time staff post or as a Contract FOR Services (Ltd Co.) and Salary or Rate is negotiable depending on experience
