Job Description

Lead Mechanical HVAC Engineer  The successful candidate will report functionally to the Mechanical/HVAC Department Manager and on a project basis to the Project Manager.

The candidate will be the discipline lead on the assigned project – scope will include:

Conceptual and detailed design of Mechanical and HVAC systems for Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor or other similar industrial production facilities.

Development of A&ID’s/P&ID’s for HVAC and utilities systems through all design stages: Conceptual, Preliminary and Detailed engineering.

Specification of Air Handling Units, mechanical plant and piping.

Energy audits and energy efficiency reviews of existing and proposed installations.

Building Management Systems – development of sequence of operations through all design stages.

Fire Protection Systems – Development of systems design for full range of fire protection systems required for client sites.

 

Responsibilities You will be responsible for:

The timely completion of all HVAC and Mechanical deliverables, specifications, drawings and technical requisitions within strenuous quality and safety criteria.

Leading and assisting the career development of the HVAC and Mechanical engineering team.

Interfacing with clients, vendors, The project management team and other disciplines ensuring the highest level of service is provided.

Provide assistance to the Business Development department in the preparation and presentation of proposals.

 

Qualifications:  Suitable applicants will have a Primary degree in Building Services, Energy or Mechanical Engineering (Level 8) and either working towards or already gained chartered status.

Plus proven experience of HVAC systems and utilities systems design in Pharmaceutical and/or Semiconductor industries in a lead capacity including:

  • HVAC systems for cleanrooms.
  • Specification of AHU’s and other specialist air handling equipment.
  • Chilled water and glycol systems.
  • Steam systems.
  • Hot water systems.
  • Cooling water systems.
  • Compressed air systems.
  • Specification of mechanical plant including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, compressors, pumps.
  • Risk assessments, safety and constructability reviews.
  • Preparation of tender and construction packages.
