Job Description

Suitable candidates must have:  

A Degree in Quantity Surveying  plus 7+ years experience in a senior level quantity surveying  role working for a main building contractor in Ireland or the UK.

Commercially and contractually astute.

Excellent knowledge of the various forms of contracts in both public and private sectors.

Strong dispute resolution knowledge and experience.

Highly driven individual with strong team management capability.

Strong Client interaction skills.

A key leader in promoting the development and growth of the company.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Outstanding negotiator

 

Key Responsibilities:

Exclusively responsible for all of the company’s building contracts, reporting to the managing Director.

Identifies and manages departmental support team requirements.

Responsible for managing effective surveying department procedures and processes in accordance with company Quality Management System.

Ensure all supply chain partners and subcontractors are engaged on the basis of thorough binding contracts.

Conduct department staff appraisals.

Identification, research and realisation of company expansion opportunities in conjunction with Head of Business Development and other heads of departments.

Foster good relations with client, design team, project stakeholders and maintain effective communications.

Managing project claims in accordance with company procedures and best practice.

Manage the preparation of monthly cost value reports prepared by project quantity surveyors.

Liaison with other internal departments to ensure the highest quality assurances standards are adopted on projects.

Rotationally chair internal management meetings.
