GIS Analyst – Energy & Planning Team – (Cork, Dublin, Carlow)

Kppm are looking to recruit a GIS Analyst to join the Energy & Planning team for our client who deliver projects in Ireland and internationally, in core competency areas of Planning, Waste Management, Environment and Energy, Geotechnics and Civils Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
·         Prepare and present drawings, figures and metrics, using GIS software in response to requests from across the business

·         Prepare proposals and costings of work

·         Perform spatial analysis

·         Create automatic processes to integrate data into a GIS database and perform assessments

·         Develop workflow processes and documentation

·         Produce 2D and 3D models to share GIS and CAD data into web and mobile applications

·         Use initiative and knowledge to support the GIS team and grow expertise in the use of GIS software and other tools

·         Contribute to the preparation and writing of technical reports and other documentation as required

·         Liaise with clients on a regular basis, understand client requirements and provide appropriate solutions while developing and managing healthy client relationships

·         Attend onsite meetings with the client and other professionals as required, maintaining the reputation at all times

·         Ensure project compliance with all relevant standards, i.e. ISO, standard approaches, etc.

·         Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and relevant Health and Safety legislation

·         Ensure assigned project tasks are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client and as outlined by the Project Owner

·         Communicate and collaborate effectively with all team members

·         Display efficient work methods, using own initiative and working as part of a team

·         Use own initiative to try to resolve problems and ask questions of other team members to allow completion of tasks

·         Obtain information required to do the job by asking questions of other team members, Project Owners or Line Manager

·         Well-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines

·         Ability to organise own workload and be able to work autonomously

·         Have all work checked and approved, and participate in project review/progress meetings

·         Communicate any issues impacting work completion to Line Manager. Take initiative to identify obstacles to progress.

·         Provide more junior team members help and advice

·         Identify and drive continuous improvement in process, technology, knowledge base, etc.

Education & Experience

·         You must hold a suitable Level 8 or Level 9 degree – GIS/Geography/Geology, with advanced knowledge in GIS software

·         Experience in ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS for Desktop/ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS

·         Data interoperability or FME

·         ESRI model builder

·         ArcGIS collector/Survey 123 App/Field Maps

·         Experience with ArcGIS extensions such as Spatial Analyst, Insights and Dashboards

·         Knowledge of BIM, SQL or Python would be advantageous however is not essential

·         Full driving licence required

·         Minimum 5 years of postgraduate work experience

·         Strong working knowledge of GIS and data management for infrastructure projects

·         Experience working in Consulting Engineering or related area

·         Experience working and coordinating with technical specialists and engineers

·         Good experience organising and developing complex tasks involving multiple parties within a short timeframe

·         Excellent communication (both verbal and written), analytical and organisation skills

·         Excellent attention to detail

·         Efficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiative

·         Ability to adopt and work to new procedures and systems quickly

·         Prepared to travel to site visits and client meetings

·         Ability and willingness to understand and follow instructions
