Electrical Engineer for the role of Senior Medium Voltage Specialist on Data Centre Projects.

Dublin / Hybrid.

The Role: As our Senior Medium Voltage Specialist, you will work on some of the largest data centre projects.

For this role you will be a self-starter to confidently work autonomously, with an ability to handle a varied workload, in an agile setting.

You will liaise with clients remotely and on-site, offering effective solutions. Leveraging your skills to build and manage complex engineering and construction projects.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5-years experience, focused on substation, high voltage, and medium voltage projects.
  • Size, design, and coordinate the implementation of medium voltage solutions.
  • Comfortable with conceptualisation and on-site inspections, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of medium voltage installations.
  • Seasoned knowledge of medium voltage cabling, switchgear, instrument transformers, protection, metering, and control schemes.
  • Ability to produce relevant technical documentation including schematics, calculations, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of MV protection relays.
  • Ability to identify and remedy technical problems related to medium voltage systems.

Main aspects and duties of the role:

  • Sizing and designing medium voltage cabling.
  • Designing and specifying medium voltage switchgear.
  • Producing Medium Voltage Single Line Diagrams (SLD’s), GA Drawings & Specifications.
  • Use ETAP to simulate networks and design MV distribution schemes, including protection coordination, cable thermal analysis and Arc flash studies.
  • Attending Factory Witness Tests (FWT) and inspecting Medium Voltage installations on site.
  • Ensuring the construction team adheres to all contractual requirements.

Salary Negotiable: €65k to €75k possibly higher depending on experience plus excellent benefits package.
