Job Description

Graduate Geotechnical Design Engineer – (Cork, Dublin, Carlow).

Kppm are looking to recruit a Graduate Geotechnical Design Engineer to join the Geotechnical team for our client who deliver projects in Sustainable Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management and Renewables.

Our client works on design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, greenways, active travel, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.

Responsibilities

·         Geotechnical Engineering design including roads, highways, active travel and greenways, earthworks, slope stability, retaining structures and structural foundations

·         Peat assessment and stability

·         Planning and managing CAD documentation, working closely with CAD Technicians

·         Working closely with other Engineers, Scientists and Graduates

·         Attend onsite meetings with the client and other professionals

·         Ensure projects are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client

·         Ensure compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems

·         Ensure compliance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation

Education & Experience

·         Suitable candidates must hold a Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology with a Masters in Geotechnical Engineering.

·         Interested in working towards Chartered Engineer status.

·         Experienced in the geotechnical engineering design of Infrastructure projects.

·         Familiarity with AutoCAD.

·         Working knowledge of geotechnical design software.

·         Experience working in a Consulting Engineering firm or similar company.

·         Excellent communication, management, analytical and organisational skills required.

·         Experience working and coordinating with technical specialists and engineers.

·         Efficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiative.

·         Experience organising and delivering complex tasks involving multiple parties within a short timeframe.

·         The ability to adopt and work to new procedures and systems quickly.

·         Must be prepared to travel to site visits and client meetings.

·         Full Drivers Licence preferred.

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.

This is a full time staff position and salary is €Negotiable depending on experience.
