Health & Safety Manager – Limerick City
Kppm are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join a construction team in Limerick City.
Our client one of the leading Construction Companies in Ireland with a strong focus on client satisfaction working with clients on their construction projects in the following industries: Commercial, Educational, Fit Out, Refurbishments, Food Processing, Healthcare, Hotel / Leisure, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Residential and Retail.
You will provide a broad range of support and coordination services to the respective in creating a safety culture across all your sites ensuring that best in class health, safety is planned, implemented and shared effectively.
Responsibilities:
You will demonstrate strong leadership skills.
· Assisting the BU HSE Manager in the consistent roll out of company strategy and expectations within SOPs, Guidance etc.
· Carrying out high quality safety inspections of workplaces at a frequency and with the intrusiveness as coached by the BU HSE Manager.
· Performing risk reviews in absence of BU HSE Manager. Contribute to risk reviews.
· Attending sites following accidents/incidents and assist with the investigation. In the absence of the Project Director lead the investigation.
· Liaising with enforcement authorities if they attend site on routine visits or to investigate following an incident.
· Understanding bespoke client requirements and tailor management system to same with line manager approval.
· Alerting your line manager if there are signs of deterioration or lack of ownership to delivering expected and / or bespoke client safety requirements.
Education & Experience
· Suitable candidates must have at least 8+ years in construction industry.
· At least 8+ years as a Health and Safety professional.
· Good IT skills.
· Interpersonal & Engaging skills
· Managing & developing trainees
· NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent
· NVQ Level 4 / EFQ L5 on Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent.
· Internal Auditor
· Mandatory aspects of L & D directory
· SEATS for Managers or equivalent IEMA programme.
