Instrument & Control Engineer (Lead) Dublin

We are looking to recruit a Lead I&C Engineer for our client a leading international engineering company to lead a team of Engineers and Designers to execute the BOD and Detailed Design phase for a very large Biopharma Drug Substance project near Dublin.  The role will be based in our clients Dublin Office with Flexible Working from home options and can be offered on a Staff or Contract basis.

Suitable Candidates will have:   B.Eng. in Electrical/Electronics, Control, Physics, Computer Science /Mechatronics or appropriate science/engineering discipline plus a minimum of 10 + years  or more experience delivering the I&C large scale hi tech / pharmaceutical Projects –  proven ability working  as a Lead I&C Engineer on large scale:  Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical type projects.

Experience with various technologies.

Proven track record of project-based activities in the pharmaceutical industry.

Technical Knowledge:

Good computer-based skills, including Windows knowledge.

Instrumentation Specification, Indexes/IO lists, filed network design, panel design, construction packs, FATs.

Technical Ability’s:

Scope development and approval

URS / Specification / SOW generation

Equipment specification

To ensure that all new equipment is bought in accordance with appropriate site procedures & regulations.

Project Management Skills:

The ability to organise, plan and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules.

Delivering projects on time and on budget.

Experience with equipment procurement.

Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities is required.

Ability to document own work clearly and precisely.

Monitor activity progress for the discipline scope in line with the project objectives, deliverables and timelines and report potential delays including mitigation recommendations.

Provide reports on a regular basis for effective communication.

Leadership qualities:  The successful candidate must have strong leadership and planning qualities, be adaptable to change and be comfortable leading cross functional teams delivering to deadlines coupled with excellent communication skills.

General responsibilities will include:

  • To lead and work as part of a team and supervising other engineers as required.
  • Attend meetings and interface regularly with clients, project managers and discipline lead ‘s to develop the scope of the project.
  • Ensure I&C scope is delivered as per the schedule and executed within the available budget.
  • Develop Basis of Design deliverables such as Specifications, Instrument / IO lists, Panel list and Bill of Materials etc to support +/-10% estimate for the BOD.
  • Develop Detailed Design deliverables and construction packages for I&C contractors.
