Lead Civil Engineer – Dublin

Kppm are looking to recruit a Lead Civil Engineer  for our client a global provider of engineering who work on pharmaceutical, semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities.

You will be required to work within the structural team under the direction of a lead engineer.  Duties may include undertaking design calculations and reports, attending internal design team meetings, attendance at client review meetings, checking structural drawings, etc.

Responsibilities:

•                       Possess excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills

•                       Able to work in a timely, accurate and cost effective manner with strong attention to detail

•                       Lead the civil engineering design effort for projects, involving:

•                       Design and development of paving and grading layouts

•                       Design and coordinated surface and foul networks

•                       Coordinate underground utilities for the site with other disciplines

•                       Develop earthworks analysis and drawings for site development

•                       Engage with internal discipline leads to agree scope definition

•                       Manage and report on your progress and budget

•                       Manage the delivery of the civil engineering drawings and deliverables

•                       Contribute to the continuous development of the civil engineering department.

Education and Experience:

•              Suitable candidates must hold a Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of at least 8 years of project experience

•                       Experience in pharmaceutical projects or other industrial type developments

•                       Chartered Civil Engineering qualification preferred.

•              Strong working knowledge and experience in analyzing and designing all aspects of medium to large scale industrial developments including:

•                       Site development, site master planning and site selection.

•                       Underground utility routing and site space planning.

•                       Hydrology analysis for designing storm drain systems.

•                       Analysing and designing gravitational wastewater systems.

•                       Performing final grading plans including cut and fill analysis and earthwork balancing.

•                       Support permit application process.

•              Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, WaterCAD and WaterGEMS preferrable.

•                       Expertise in hydrology analysis tools including Micro Drainage software.

•                       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•                       Strong interpersonal skills.

This is a Contract for Services role and the hourly rate is €negotiable depending on experience.
