Lead Structural Engineer – (Cork)
Kppm are looking to recruit a Lead Structural Engineer for our client a global provider of engineering who offer a full range of design and construction services on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor manufacturing, data centre companies worldwide, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities:
· You will generally be responsible for supervision and technical direction over a team of engineers and designers when functioning as a lead engineer.
· As lead engineer, you will be responsible for total delivery of the structural deliverables and services on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations.
· Duties may include performing advanced engineering work serving as a technical specialist for a complex engineering assignment.
· Work at this level requires extensive progressive experience in structural engineering and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects.
· Maintain coordination with all team members for information, specific job scope and efficient design.
· Actively cooperate with members of your project task force, client personnel and members of your department, as appropriate
· Make a particular point of establishing a mutually respectful professional as well as a personal relationship with key client personnel with whom you interact
· Understand client expectations, as determined by the team, and constantly strive to achieve or better these
· Meet commitments that you make to the client, individually or as a team, to complete work by certain dates or within agreed man-hour or cost budgets
· Produce flawless work without unnecessary errors
· Do not compromise safety in design or in the field.
Education and Experience:
· Suitable candidates must have a BSc or MSc in Civil / Structural Engineering
· Chartered engineer preferably MIStructE
· Knowledge and application of Eurocode, BSI and Irish design standards and codes
· Knowledge and application of the Irish Building Regs
· Theoretical and practical experience with structural computer programs
· Knowledge of the application of CAD, Revit and Navis software for purposes of planning work and monitoring quality of deliverables.
· Knowledgeable of the discipline specific methods, practices and techniques required to engineer, design and construct process and manufacturing projects
· Experienced in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of civil/structural work
· Complete understanding of the skills and experience required to perform engineering and design functions in an EPC environment
· Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Mail
· Good listening, writing, communications and conflict resolution skills
· Able to lead teams to deliver on commitments
This is a staff position and salary is €Negotiable depending on experience.
