M&E Director – Mechanical and Electrical Engineering for our client a leading International multidisciplinary Engineering and Architectural firm celebrated for innovative solutions across diverse sectors who  continue to strive for excellence, they  are seeking an experienced M&E Director proficient in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Disciplines to amplify their success.

In this role, you will engage extensively with their internal teams, clients, consultants, and vendors, further bolstering their esteemed Mechanical & Electrical Engineering services.

Job Summary:  As the M&E Director, you will orchestrate the activities, projects, and personnel within the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Disciplines. Overseeing various building systems sectors within these disciplines, you’ll serve as the pivotal connection for internal and external engagements.

Educational and License Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a reputed institution.
  • Advanced qualifications are preferred i.e.: Master’s degree.
  • Chartered as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
  • Ideally 20 years of significant experience in engineering, particularly in building systems design.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Active affiliation with relevant industry organizations.

Candidates must also have:

  • Effective communication skills for engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • A track record of fostering teamwork and cultivating leadership.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building codes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluency in mechanical / electrical design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving prowess.
  • Command over production software, notably AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with Public Works Contract Advantageous

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurately determine and communicate staffing needs for disciplines and projects.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Technical Officer and HR on recruitment, selection, and onboarding. Champion the growth of our team through mentorship and professional development programs. Implement and assess development plans for our staff, ensuring regular performance reviews.
  • Administer compensation structures and supervise departmental promotions and transfers.
  • Uphold the impeccable quality of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering deliverables.
  • Lead discipline-focused meetings and reviews while nurturing effective client interactions.
  • Establish design standards and procedures, emphasizing quality assurance and excellence.
  • Represent our brand at regional and national events, spearheading a culture of innovation.
  • Oversee research endeavours, promoting industry publications to reinforce our thought leadership.
  • Supervise the drafting of program documents, technical specifications, and equipment selection.
  • Conduct rigorous on-site inspections, ensuring steadfast adherence to our quality benchmarks.
  • Engage with regulatory entities, ensuring unwavering compliance with all pertinent standards.

Remuneration / Package:

  • €120,000 + Negotiable depending on experience and proficiency.
