Job Description

Planner – (Co. Kildare)

Kppm are looking to recruit a Planner in Co. Kildare for our client a top Building Contractor in Ireland who build, refurbish and extend buildings around the country and cover all sectors – Infrastructure, Healthcare, Commercial mixed use, Residential, Industrial, Civic, Leisure, Offices, Retail, Pharmaceutical, Hi-Tech and Data-Centre’s.

·         You will support live projects and engage with and travel to project sites.

·         You will work directly with the pre-construction, design and bid management teams. You must have Civil Planning experience for the position to support the front-end pre-construction activities of our Civil Engineering Estimating Department.

·         You will produce tender responses in strictest of compliance to the tender and contract documents. You will be accountable for interpreting the tender and design management requirements for the civil, design, programme and quality components of all bid documents. 

·         You will be a detailed-oriented individual with extensive and broad range of experience working on civil engineering projects.

·         You must have excellent technical and written skills and communicate with the bid team, construction team, subcontractors, external design consultants and suppliers.

·          A knowledge of Earthworks Mass Haul calculation will be an advantage.

·         The primary planning package is Primavera P6, the candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft Project

Responsibilities:

·         Project Planning using MS Project & Primavera Software or Asta 

·         Project Progress Measuring & Monitoring 

·         Project Progress Reporting 

·         Subcontractor Progress Monitoring 

·         Labour Productivity Measure & Reporting using S/E curves 

·         Reporting in Project / Primavera and using Excel 

·         Measure quantities from drawings to generate progress reports 

·         To provide strategic advice for safeguarding, and growth and development. 

·         To manage planning issues around airport safeguarding and the project delivery plan. 

·         To engage with planning bodies as may be required, including through written submissions. 

·         To work as part of a team, including through the flexible allocation of work as it arises. 

·         Working with our site teams to update monthly programmes and reports for submission to the Client.

Education & Experience

·         Suitable candidates must hold a relevant Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent 

·         You will have 5-10 years previous experience. 

·         You will have a background in construction/building engineering both commercial and industrial sectors. 

·         Excellent computer skills would include – MS Word, Primavera, Asta, Excel, MS Project. 

·         Good communication Skills and ability to work as part of a fully integrated team is essential 

·         Eligibility to work in Ireland and fluent English 

Salary will be negotiable depending on your experience.
