Job Description

Process Engineer (Dublin and Cork)   Our client is a Leading Engineering Design Consultancy  working on Life Science projects including Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Medical Devices and Food and Beverage process plant projects.

 Suitable Candidates will have:  BSc/B.E. in Chemical or Bioprocess Engineering plus a minimum of 2 to 5 years experience  working as  Process Project Engineer on Life Science / Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical projects from Concept design stage through to Design Stage through to project handover stages.  Candidates who are Chartered or working towards Chartered Eng. status are preferred.

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for the running of small projects and form part of multidisciplinary project design team.
  • Research, develop, designs, and have responsibility for design, procurement and CQV of engineering project services for projects in the Life Science sectors.
  • Prepare / contribute to feasibility studies, front‐end studies and detailed engineering design, including associated capital cost evaluations.
  • Generates PFD’s, P&ID’s and liaises closely with the team of piping designers in the development of process equipment layouts.
  • Complete mass, and energy balances preferably using UNISIM software.
  • Prepare and maintain project indices.
  • Prepare equipment technical specifications, equipment procurement enquiry packages.
  • Liaise with vendors and complete Technical and commercial bid analysis of vendor bids.
  • Complete process design and calculations.
  • Prepare CQV documentation.
  • Liaise with clients and other members of the design team and contractors on technical and commercial issues.
  • Assist clients on the generation of User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Detailed Process Descriptions.
  • Provide process engineering and scientific support to clients.
  • Complete site walkdowns and redlines of process plant installations.
  • Complete specific site assignment work.

Ideally candidates will also all or most of the following attributes/experience:

  • Good technical skills and written ability.
  • Sustainability / Zero Carbon awareness.
  • Be Commercially aware.
  • Innate aptitude for process engineering design techniques.
  • Fully conversant with current Irish Regulations.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc.
  • Knowledge of AUTOCAD preferable.
  • Highly motivated can‐do attitude. Can drive work with limited supervision to high quality standards and meeting delivery timelines.
  • Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and external contacts.
  • Background in consulting or life science manufacturing technical services /project support department preferred.
  • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy
  • Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the Group.

This is a key role where you will interface with:  Board Directors, Project Managers, Non‐technical / administrative colleagues, and you will collaborate globally with peers and counterparts developing long‐term business relationships with colleagues.  You will also develop long‐term business relationships with suppliers, clients, and business professionals.

As this is a key role our client’s preference is for a key full time staff member however suitable candidates looking for a Contract For Services role on a long term basis will also be considered.

Remuneration/Package:  Currently €Negotiable depending on experience.
