Resident Site ARCHITECT‘s and ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST‘s

Resident Site Architects and  Architectural Technologists We are currently looking to add to our team of Resident Site Architect ‘s and Resident Site Architect Technologist ‘s.  Site based,  initially to work on a large-Scale Master plan including 28+ buildings and related infrastructure at Rosslare Harbour.

The site is based in Rosslare Harbour with direct train access from Dublin enroute through major stations including:  

Connolly Station –  Tara Street – Pierse Street – Dun Laoghaire – Bray – Greystones –  Wicklow Town – Rathdrum – Arklow – Gorey – Enniscorthy – Wexford Town – Rosslare Strand.

Hybrid working from home options available also.

The role:  The Site Architect and /or Site Architectural Technologist will work within the Architectural Team, which includes the Employer’s Representative, Assigned Certifier a number of Architectural Graduates, the Assistant Principal Architect and State/Principal Architect.

The Resident Architectural Technologist will work in a flexible multi-disciplinary team under the direction of the Employers Representative / Senior Architects. The Site Architectural Technologist will report to the Site Architect, Senior Architects, Assistant Principal Architect and State/Principal Architect. They will undertake a range of duties on-site and at head office.

The Site Architect and Site Architectural Technologist will be required to provide site reports.  These will consist of: Recording of information from site in the form of weekly site reports to include: weather, contractor’s personnel, visitors, meetings, plant and equipment, material delivered, works opened up, works protected, works to be closed in, BCAR Inspections, prepare new drawings / revise existing drawings, elements tagged and removed including location stored, progress on site, quality assurance, any other matters agreed.

The Site Architect and Site Architectural Technologist will also be required to perform other duties assigned from time to time as appropriate to the position.  They will be required to work as part of a team and/or under their own initiative.

Site Architect Qualifications and experience

·         RIAI-Qualified Architect

·         A minimum 3 years post graduate experience.

·         Experience working with the Public works contracts

·         Experience of having worked on at least one major project on site of similar scale and complexity during construction.

·         Evidence to demonstrate the following:

·         Knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Regulations and the ability to apply these to Construction Stage issues.

·         Knowledge of the GCC Contract and ability to apply this to Construction Stage issues

·         Knowledge of and ability to work with an ISO 9001 accredited Architectural Practice systems and the ability to produce weekly reports and maintain relevant site records are essential.

·         Good personal relationship skills.

·         Awareness of security issues

Site Architectural Technologist Qualifications and experience

·         RIAI-approved BSc in Architectural Technology (QQ Level 7) course.

·         A minimum 3 years post graduate relevant professional work experience.

·         Experience of having worked on at least one major project on site of similar scale and complexity during construction.

Evidence to demonstrate the following:

·         Knowledge of the Building Regulations, Building Control Regulations and Planning Regulations and the ability to apply these to Construction Stage issues.

·         Knowledge of the CWMF Contracts and ability to apply this to Construction Stage issues.

·         Knowledge of and ability to work with an ISO 9001 accredited Architectural Practice systems.

·         Ability to produce weekly reports and maintain relevant site records.

·         Good inter-personal relationship skills.

·         Awareness of health and safety and site security issues.

·         Commitment to the project to be demonstrated at an interview with Brexit Unit.

·         Experience working with the CWMF Public Works forms of contracts will be viewed favourably but is not essential.

Role / Responsibilities will be for the duration of the Construction Project up to and including substantial completion date to carry out duties in consultation with the Senior Resident/Site Architect, Project Architect and ER, including but not limited to:

·         Daily Monitoring of Works – tracking of progress on site vs. Contractor’s programme

·         Filing – Received RFIs, Queries, Drawings, Emails, Technical Submittals

·         BCAR & Architectural and general inspections

·         Daily liaison with Contractor’s site team on site

·         Monitoring + recording of testing

·         Preparing project report on works

·         Attendance at design team meetings, site meetings and main contractors’ meetings

·         Site safety matters – raise any concerns as they arise with PSDP

·         Change order assessment as required by ER

·         Assisting with evaluation and responding to MC works proposals, RFIs

·         Prepare new drawings / Revise existing drawings for ER consideration

·         Reviewing shop drawings against As-built and Co-ordination of comments from design Team for ER.

Recording of information for, and production of weekly site reports to include:

·         Weather

·         Contractor’s personnel

·         Visitors

·         Meetings

·         Plant and equipment

·         Materials delivered.

·         Works opened up.

·         Works protected.

·         Works to be closed in

·         BC (A) R and other inspections

·         Prepare new drawings / revise existing drawings.

·         Elements tagged and removed including location stored.

·         Progress on site

·         Quality assurance and

·         Any other matters agreed.

The Resident Site Architect and Resident Site Architect Technologist will work within an Architectural Team which includes the Employer’s Representatives, the Project Architects and Architectural Graduates.

The team that also includes Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical & Electrical Engineers, Civil & Structural Engineers, and Fire Engineer and a number of specialists to carry out reports at Detailed Design Stage in relation to matters including Environmental Performance of the Building and Thermal Bridging analysis to achieve NZEB certification, further advice from these may be required during Construction Stage.

Salary Scale: € Negotiable depending on experience.

Working week in general:  37 hours per week (7.4 hrs per day + 1 hour for lunch) , based on a typical working day between the core hours  of 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

The Location:  The location will be initially site based at Rosslare Harbour  Hybrid working from home options available also,  with a requirement to attend Head office in Dublin 2, when requested.
