Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer for the role of Senior Project Mechanical Engineer for our client a leading multi award winning Mechanical & Electrical Consulting Engineers including “A great place to work” who work in the following industry sectors: Commercial Offices, Data Centres, High Tech.

Candidate Attributes
• Minimum 10+ years of mechanical design experience
• Role would be as a senior member of the design team, working under the team leadership to deliver leading high tech smart office developments for some of the largest tech firms in Ireland and overseas.
• Candidate would need excellent communication skills, representing Ethos as design team and Client meetings.
• Ability to lead projects and be able to take a brief from the project lead on large projects and deliver and control the tasks required
• Candidate needs to be able to balance multiple tasks, prioritise and delegate as appropriate to meet project deadlines.
• Excellent report writing skills and be able to explain complex engineering issues in simple and clear language.
• Good understanding of HVAC and building controls.
• Experience in the design of plumbing and drainage systems is preferred.
• Training and professional development of junior and intermediate engineers working as part of group.
• Training and mentorship will be provided in developing the right candidate to progress on to take on a lead role within the Global tech team.

Key Activities
• Works under limited supervision
• Takes responsibility for definable parts of project – may include full responsibility on smaller projects
• Takes responsibility for elements of work which may include supervision of other staff
• Champions the QA system
• Carries out Audits of other projects under the QA system
• Manages upkeep of project design file
• Working towards a professional qualification
• Takes a proactive role in a broad range of tasks and activities
• Delivers on time in an organised way
• Balances demands, copes well with interruptions and switches well between tasks
• Has good ideas and shares them with others
• Some client & liaison and Design Team exposure
• Deals with on-site issues – Contractors and Vendors
• Promote positive message internally and externally
