Structural Design Engineer – Industrial and Commercial projects – (Dublin)
Kppm are looking to recruit a Structural Design Engineer to work on Industrial and Commercial projects. Our client is a multidiscipline practice in Dublin who offer a range of services in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture, Project Management and Quantity Surveying in the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Food processing sector.
Responsibilities
- Generate designs in accordance with current codes, guidelines and best practice
- Keep up-to date with relevant Legislation, Standards and design techniques, including structural analysis and design software packages
- Develop building designs/specifications from customer briefs
- Generate production information and develop and manage full product design documentation.
- Participate in design and review meetings.
- Undertake site inspections and prepare written reports on same.
- Direct other members of the design team where appropriate, in undertaking their roles and responsibilities.
- Carry out your work in an efficient manner.
- Contribute to efforts to identify and determine client requirements
- Participate in developing cost estimates and tender documents
- Interact with work colleagues and all project stakeholders in a respectful and professional manner
- To maintain client confidentiality at all times
Education & Experience
- Suitable candidate must have a relevant Degree with 4 to 5 years structural design experience in a consultancy and have good quality industrial design experience working with Eurocodes.
- Chartered or close to Chartered with Engineers Ireland/ IStructE
- Candidates must hold a valid visa for working full-time in Ireland
- Client facing” role so a good level of written and spoken English is required.
- Capable of representing the firm in design team and client meetings;
- Knowledge and experience of structural design in accordance with Euro codes
- Knowledge and experience of Structural Engineering design software
- Excellent organisation skills
- Proven ability to deliver work to set timescales
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM and Revit would be an advantage
This is a permanent staff position and salary is negotiable depending on experience.
